Ichanka translates as "Water of the Condor" ("I" = water). The little hamlet of Ichanka, located on the Estate, was an important source of spring water to the indigenous Diaguitas. This secret water source was discovered courtesy of the Condors that would be seen hovering over the spring. The Diaguitas believed the Condor was the closest creature to divinity and was considered a messenger of the spirits. Ichanka Estate Vineyards – A magical vineyard location amongst the mountains. Tasting Notes
An intense dark red color offers aromas full of fruit with hints of mint and pepper, while flavors of ripened plum accompany this wine's characteristically smooth and sweet tannins. This unique and delightful Malbec is well-balanced across the palate with a long and persistent finish.
Best Paired With
You'll find Malbec a great match for steak, pork, and lamb, as well as fattier fish like salmon and poultry with dark meat. Game meat—like bison, ostrich, and venison—are also a safe bet. In addition to meat pairings, consider foods with richer sauces or more vibrant flavors.
