Full-bodied and fruit-driven, Hahn Founder’s wines are richly textured with fresh, bright flavors and balanced acidity. Fruit is sourced from long-standing, like-minded Central Coast growers to ensure exceptional quality. The grapes for this wine were grown in the Arroyo Seco appellation of Monterey County in the specific Ste. Philippe vineyards. The sandy soils of Ste. Philippe present ideal conditions for growing Merlot. The soil color, structure and high winds on the valley floor allow the grapes to develop intense red fruit flavors and deep color. We age our Merlot in French oak barrels which enhances mouthfeel and contributes dark chocolate and vanilla flavors.

Tasting Notes
