[message]Description
Rasteau’s vineyards are relatively sheltered from the Mistral wind, and face south. Renowned for its Vin Doux Naturel, it’s also the home of the most intense and spiciest reds in the South. Rasteau was elevated to Cru status in 2010. Made of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre and a 5% hint of Cinsault, this wine is fermented in traditional concrete vats, followed by 12 months maturation in French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes
The wine has a deep purple color. With concentration coming from 80-year-old vines it’s studded with flavor - ripe cherry, blackberry, licorice, spices, and a hint of chocolate. An explosive palate offers ripe fruit and spicy, enduring tannins.
Best Paired With
Great with slow-cooked lamb or pork, or pair with a hearty pie – traditional steak and kidney, or perhaps a spicy lentil and spinach option.
